It was closing time and I, my friend Matt, and his friend Tyler were all leaving one of the local campus bars. We were drunk, but Matt was roasted. We decided to walk to the 24-hr Hardee’s, being that it’s conveniently located near the bars. After eating and our usual hellraising inside, we walked out the door. A jeep comes flying around the drive-thru lane, close to us but at least 5 ft from us. Anyway, I guess Matt thought the jeep got too close so he goes up and slams the side of the jeep. The jeep flies back in reverse, and Matt takes off running, while Tyler and I stand there. I figure that Matt is gonna run all the way back to the dorm. The driver (who was fairly big) jumped out and I thought he was gonna come at us, but he ran right by us across the street in the direction Matt ran. Well then Tyler and I run and wait to cross the intersection to see what is going on, and we see the driver running back across the street with a cop chasing him and grab him. Apparently there was a cop car across the street and they saw the guy hit Matt. Matt had stopped running after he crossed the street but was in no condition to fight anyone, especially this guy. Once we cross the street, we see a group of people standing around someone laying face down in the grass. Of course it had to be Matt....he had gotten knocked the fuck out. I picked him up and he was bleeding all over me and couldn’t comprehend where he was. After a minute or two, he wasn’t so disoriented, but kept asking me questions. By this time, there were 2 more cop cars there and a rescue unit came. The cops took info and all that but neither Matt nor that guy wanted to press charges, so we finally got to go on our way. The whole way home Matt keeps asking me what happened and why, and I keep telling him to forget it for now and go to bed. We get back to the dorm and he goes to his room. I had assumed that he had passed out, but 10 minutes later he comes out into the hall in a rage, saying that he should’ve kicked that guys ass. Then he starts hitting everything in sight and a couple guys try to restrain him but he ends up putting his forearm through a hallway window. So, along with his busted mouth from earlier, he ended up with some nice cuts all over his arm as well. |
