I had just gotten back home from drinking, and I finally decided to do something I had wanted to for a long time....in my closet was my friend’s broken TV and I had pondered throwing it out my 4th floor window, considering we had thrown many things out my window. I grabbed the TV and tossed it out the window. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a good throw and the TV landed in a bush instead of on the ground (my room was along the side of the building). I had told my also intoxicated neighbor Craig what I did, and he told me to go get the TV for him to throw out. So I ran downstairs and outside and brought the TV back up for him. He took his screen out of his window and held the TV out ready to throw. (His room was along the front of the dorm, next to a street). Our other friend Glen was also with us to witness the occasion. I told Craig that there was someone across the street and he should wait to throw it, but he said he didn’t care. The TV drops and hits this concrete ledge that is above the entrance and just explodes. Apparently the person across the street was an RA, and she took off running to call the police when it happened. I guess she was drunk too and told the police a body got thrown out the window. I took off running to my room and locked my door. I figured that Glen went back to his room, and Craig was still in his room, unaware that he went to Glen’s room. About 5 minutes later, I hear campus police banging on Craig’s door, so I decided to go out in the hall and play dumb. I asked a cop what happened and he said someone threw a TV out the window. Next thing I know they open the door and Craig is nowhere to be found. The cop told me it was a felony to throw a TV out the window and they would have a warrant out for Craig. I wanted to laugh so bad. They eventually left and I looked for Craig outside. The next morning Craig gets the story about the police coming up, so he goes down to the Resident Director’s office and tells him that his door must have not shut all the way and someone came in his room and did it. The RD bought the bullshit story and Craig didn’t get in any trouble. |
