A nice spot to hide

One night my friend Steve decided to throw a little party with a very limited guest list, which I was happy to be on. Well, living in a small town it is very hard for a lot of commotion not to come up about a party, so before he knew it there were about 50 people at his house. I got to the party at about 10:30 and the party was already in full swing. I came in, said hi to everybody and found the alcohol. Steve’s sister is a bartender, so there was a lot of stuff to choose from. I started out by eating about a cup of jello shooters and talking to a girl that I knew from school. After that I took a shot of tequila with a friend of mine and decided to switch to beer. Now it’s about 11:00 and I am out on his back deck smoking a cigarette. His deck is about 30 feet in the air. All of a sudden this kid starts walking through the back yard and tells us the cops are there and he’s leaving. My plan was to go down in the basement and leave through one of the basement windows. As I go inside I see the cop coming through the front door with a nasty look on his face. Me and about 30 other people run down to the basement, only to see a cop shining his flashlight through the windows I was going to jump out of. Everybody else ran into the garage but I stayed in the room. After he stopped shining his light I started looking for a place to hide. The only thing I could find was a dryer. I squeezed myself in there and just as I was closing the door I heard him come down the steps and announce "It’s alright kids, nobody is in trouble." Bullshit, I thought. I’m not a small guy either, I’m about 5’8" and 160lbs. Just then I saw his flashlight shine on the crack of the dryer and I was sure I was caught. He inspected the room but didn’t find me. I stayed in the dryer for about 45 min. until I heard everyone pissing upstairs and getting breathalized. The next day the cop called my house to see if I heard anything about the party because my parents are friends with the police. All I could do was smile to myself and thank God.
